What can I offer you as a birth doula?
During the Pregnancy
- 3 antenatal visits structured around your and your family's needs
- recommendation of relevant resources
- hire of the rebozo, belly wrap and/or vaginal steaming stool
- general well-being support including herbs, massage, rebozo and aromatherapy
- I am accessible by phone at any point in your pregnancy and postpartum.
During Labour and Birth
- I am on call exclusively for you from two weeks before your due date until your baby is born.
- mental, physical and emotional support
- nourishment
- offer comfort tools (like aromatherapy, massage, rebozo, change of position/place) if required
- to take a few photos if you wanted
- to maintain a sense of privacy
- to support skin-to-skin and the first feed if desired
- I do my best to keep your environment as calm, cosy and undisturbed as possible no matter where you give birth.
In Postpartum
one visit shortly after the birth to help you settle and find what works for your family
practical support with establishing breastfeeding, babywearing and safe cosleeping if required
one visit after about a month after birth to debrief the birth and the parenthood experience so far
What is the cost of my doula care?
Depending on your circumstances and affordability, I offer a sliding scale of £800 - £1200. Additional travel and parking costs may apply.
