What can I offer you as a birth doula?

Birth is a threshold — a moment unlike any other. It is the meeting place of strength and surrender, the emergence of a new baby, and the transformation of a woman into a mother (again, or for the first time). However birth unfolds, it marks you. It matters.

Every woman deserves an empowering birth.

As your doula, I offer steady, grounded presence through pregnancy, labour, and birth — a warm hand, a calm voice, and someone in the room who is entirely there for you. My role is to centre you, the birthing mother — to hold space for your instincts, your rhythm, your voice. You lead; I listen. I support what you need, moment by moment, in ways that feel gentle, respectful, and deeply personal.

A big part of my role is to support your birth partner too — helping them feel calm, confident, and prepared, so they can be fully present for you. They know you best, and when they feel steady and informed, they become your greatest source of comfort and safety. My care weaves around both of you, so together you can move through birth feeling connected, supported, and strong.

My care is woven through your journey — from the early days of pregnancy, through the intensity and beauty of birth, and into the first tender weeks with your baby. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all care, I work closely with you and your family to meet your changing needs in each phase, always centering your voice, your comfort, and your experience.

Below you’ll find a sense of what’s included at each stage:

🌿 Pregnancy Support

Pregnancy is a time of preparation — not just gathering knowledge, but also deepening trust in your body, your choices, and your support circle. This is a time for us to build trust and connection — a steady foundation for the support I’ll offer during your birth. Each visit is shaped by what feels most relevant and nourishing to you, held with care and gentle attention.

During your pregnancy, my support includes:

  • 3 to 4 antenatal visits structured around your and your family's needs — a mix of conversation, reflection, bodywork, and practical preparation

  • Active birth session for you and your birth partner, exploring positions, comfort measures, and how they can support you during birth

  • General well-being support including herbal care, rebozo massage, aromatherapy, and grounding touch

  • Access to resources relevant to your choices and circumstances — from reading materials to local referrals

  • Use of birth tools: rebozo, belly bind, or vaginal steaming stool — offered with guidance and care

  • Ongoing contact — I’m available by phone or message at any point in your pregnancy and postpartum for questions, reassurance, or simply to talk things through

🌸 Birth Support

Birth is a threshold — a moment of awe, transformation, and the emergence of new life. My role is to be quietly and fully present with you, offering calm and steady support while you do the work that only you can do. Often, this means simply holding space — bearing witness as you (and your birth partner) move through the rhythm of labour. When you need more, I am there to encourage, steady, or offer gentle tools of comfort. But at the heart of it all is you — your strength, your body, your birth.

When you invite me into your birth space, my support includes:

  • Exclusive on-call support from two weeks before your due date until your baby arrives, ready to be present whenever you need

  • Emotional, physical, and mental support, responding to what you need in each moment rather than guiding the process

  • Gentle nourishment and care, including calming snacks or herbal teas to support your body and energy

  • Comfort tools, offered if wanted: aromatherapy, massage, rebozo, TENS machine or changing position or space to ease your labour

  • Capturing memories, taking a few photographs only if you wish

  • Supporting a sense of intimacy and calm in your birth environment

  • Supporting skin-to-skin and the first feed, if desired, helping you and your baby settle into these first moments

  • While every birth is unique, I will do my utmost to help your space feel calm, cosy, and peaceful, wherever you are.

🌹 Postnatal Support

The weeks after birth are tender, transformative, and full of adjustment. This is a time for rest, gentle care, and practical support as you settle into life with your baby. My care is here to help you and your family feel nourished, connected, and confident in these early weeks.

In the weeks after birth, my support includes:

  • A visit shortly after birth, to help you settle in, find rhythms that work for your family, and ease into your new role

  • Practical support, including breastfeeding assistance, babywearing guidance, and safe co-sleeping advice if needed

  • Gentle nurturing care, such as rebozo massage, relaxation techniques, and calming herbal teas or remedies to support your body and energy levels

  • A follow-up visit around one month after birth, to reflect on your birth experience, your early parenthood journey, and discuss any questions or adjustments you may need

  • Ongoing contact - I am also available by phone or message throughout this period, offering reassurance, support, or simply a listening ear whenever you need it.
